Kewaunee C.A.R.E.S

Kewaunee C.A.R.E.S. (Citizens Advancing Responsible Environmental Stewardship) was founded by Lynn and Nancy Utesch of Kewaunee, WI who are organic farmers and advocates. They fight against contamination of land, water and air by CAFO’s (factory farms) which produces LA-MRSA in livestock and in manure from high doses of antibiotics given to livestock for growth purposes. The contaminated manure runs off into streams, lakes, rivers, etc. and aerated onto farm land.

Patient Safety Movement Foundation

MRSA Survivors Network has partnered with The Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF), a non-profit organization focused on eliminating preventable patient deaths in hospitals by 2020 (0X2020).

The Patient Safety Movement Foundation believes reaching ZERO preventable deaths in U.S. hospitals by 2020 is not only the right goal, but an attainable goal with the right people, ideas, and technology. Many pieces of the puzzle already exist. Solving this problem is a matter of connecting the dots.

Partners of the PSMF are offered the opportunity to create and utilize the PSMF’s Actionable Patient Safety Solutions (APSS), which address fifteen of the leading patient safety challenges facing hospitals today. These solutions represent an aggregate of clinical best practices and serve as powerful tools that present healthcare professionals with practices that significantly decrease preventable deaths in hospitals.
